Western Nephrology

Western Nephrology began practice in 1968 serving Lutheran Medical Center and St. Anthony Central Hospitals. In 1973 the practice expanded to provide both inpatient and outpatient dialysis services in the West Denver Metropolitan Region. Over the next 30 years outpatient dialysis centers were developed in Boulder, Arvada, Brighton, Lakewood, Longmont, and Westminster. In addition inpatient dialysis services were expanded to cover 8 hospitals and 2 rehabilitation hospitals in the Northwest Denver Metropolitan and Boulder area counties. Currently Western Nephrology provides consultative services and inpatient dialysis services to Avista Hospital, Boulder Community Hospital, Colorado Acute Specialty Hospital, Exempla Lutheran Hospital, Exempla Good Samaritan Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, North Suburban Hospital, Vibra, St. Anthony Hospital and St. Anthony North Hospital. Western Nephrology partners with American Renal Associates as medical directors and attending physicians at 8 regional dialysis clinics as well as a home dialysis program that provides for both home hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The practice currently includes 17 board certified nephrologists in clinics in Arvada, Lakewood, Boulder, Lafayette, Longmont and Westminster. Research Departments are housed in our Westminster and Arvada Offices. Our administrative office is located in Wheat Ridge and provides credentialing, financial support, and information systems support to the practice.
