Stephen Thorne has worked in the scientific field for over 20 years. Stephen began their career in 2000 as a PostDoc for Cancer Research UK. In 2003, they moved to Stanford University as a Research Associate. Stephen then joined the University of Pittsburgh in an Assistant Professor role. In 2016, they became the Chief Scientific Officer of Western Oncolytics Ltd. and in 2020, they took on the same role at KaliVir Immunotherapeutics, as well as becoming a Board Member for Duo Oncology.
Stephen Thorne obtained their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) from the University of Oxford in 1993, majoring in Biochemistry. Stephen then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Imperial College London, which they completed in 1998 in the field of Microbiology.
