Dr. Liaqat Ali is a seasoned electrical engineer with extensive experience in Distributed Energy Resources (DER), currently serving as a Senior DER Engineer at Western Power since February 2024. Previously, Dr. Ali worked as a Product Specialist in Energy at Power Ledger, focusing on project management and collaborating with stakeholders on energy transition strategies. Academic experience includes serving as a Lab Supervisor at Curtin University, where Dr. Ali developed energy optimization techniques and conducted power system modeling and analysis. Dr. Ali's professional background also encompasses roles as a Distribution Engineer at Saudi Electricity Company and an Electrical Project Engineer at Saudi Engineering Group International, complemented by earlier experience as an Application Engineer Trainee. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MPhil in Electrical Engineering from Curtin University and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology.
