Ina Cox

African American Archivist at Western Reserve Historical Society

Ina Cox is a multifaceted academic and archivist currently serving as a Ph.D. candidate and teaching assistant in the History Department at Loyola University Chicago since September 2016. In addition to academic pursuits, Ina holds a consultancy position as a Digital Oral History Archivist at the National Indo American Museum and completed a Ford Foundation Dissertation Fellowship at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine from September 2022 to August 2023, focusing on a significant case from 1972 Chicago. Previous roles include curatorial internships at the Library of Congress and the Chicago History Museum, as well as project archivist responsibilities, where Ina managed extensive visual materials documenting the Lyric Opera of Chicago's history. Educational background includes a Joint PhD in US History and Public History from Loyola University Chicago, as well as degrees from prestigious institutions including Princeton University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
