Heather K. Luther

VP & General Counsel at Western Sugar Cooperative

Heather K. Luther, with 17 years of corporate legal experience, has held the position of Vice President & General Counsel for The Western Sugar Cooperative since February 2016. In this role Ms. Luther manages the legal risk for Western Sugar. Prior to joining Western Sugar, Ms. Luther was employed by Israel Chemicals Limited (ICL), a global fertilizer and chemical manufacturer, since 2004. At ICL she held the titles of Global Compliance Officer and General Counsel of the Americas. In these roles she led all legal aspects of ICL for North and South America and was named ICL’s first Global Compliance Officer where she led a team of professionals that developed and implemented ICL’s first global compliance program covering its 12,000 employees worldwide.

Ms. Luther began her career in 1999 as a corporate attorney in Kansas City, MO with the firm Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP. In 2002 she joined the legal team at Bunge North America, Inc. in St. Louis, MO, as Corporate Counsel where she specialized in all aspects of transactional and corporate legal work and assisted with Bunge’s M&A activities.

Ms. Luther earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from South Methodist University in 1996 and a Juris Doctor degree from South Methodist School of Law in 1999.
