Amanda Whibley

Amanda Whibley has over 27 years of experience in media and public relations, currently serving as the Manager of Media and Public Relations at Western Sydney University since 1996. In this role, Amanda leads a team of five staff, focusing on proactive and reactive media relations to enhance the University's reputation and communicate its strategic positions effectively. Prior to this role, Amanda held several positions at the University, including Media Services Manager and Senior Media Officer, where responsibilities encompassed managing media teams, developing communication strategies, building journalist relationships, and overseeing crisis communications. Amanda began her career as a Technical Writer at The Word Group Pty Ltd, where consultation involved creating business documentation and training materials for notable clients. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Western Sydney University.
