Helene Smith

Helene Smith is an experienced professional in the fields of public health and research, currently serving as a Research Consultant at Western Sydney University since May 2023. Helene co-founded Namvela Consulting in June 2022 and has held various specialist roles, including Monitoring And Evaluation Specialist at both Ubumi Prisons Initiative and UNSW since 2022 and 2021, respectively. Previous experience includes serving as an Implementation Scientist at the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia from August 2015 to September 2022, and a Director of Development & Operations at Mayan Families from May 2012 to December 2014. Helene's educational background includes pursuing a PhD in Public Health at UNSW, a Master of International Public Health from the University of Sydney, and a Bachelor of Communications/International Studies from the University of Technology Sydney.
