Alan Shepard

Alan Shepard is an accomplished academic leader with extensive experience in higher education administration. Currently serving as the President and Vice Chancellor at Western University since July 2019, Alan previously held the same title at Concordia University, where Alan was also appointed President Emeritus in 2019. Prior roles include Provost and Vice President Academic at Ryerson University (now TMU) from 2007 to 2012, and Associate Vice President Academic at the University of Guelph from 2002 to 2007, where Alan also contributed as a Professor and Director of the School of English and Theatre Studies. Alan's academic career began at TCU from 1990 to 2002, where Alan held various positions, including Chair. Alan holds a PhD from the University of Virginia and a BA from St. Olaf College, with additional studies at the University of Cambridge.
