Grant Cherkas

Grant Cherkas has extensive work experience in the nuclear industry. Grant most recently served as the Chief Nuclear Officer at SRC Nuclear Inc. Prior to that, they held various roles at Westinghouse Electric Company, including Vice President of Market Development & Chief Engineer and Vice President of Market Development in Canada. Grant also worked as a Nuclear Solutions Executive at Westinghouse Electric Canada. Before joining Westinghouse, Grant was a Director at Jensen Hughes. Grant started their career at the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission as a Fire Protection Technical Specialist, where they developed regulatory requirements and provided oversight in engineering design, fire protection, and robustness against malevolent acts. Prior to that, they worked at Ontario Power Generation as a Senior Manager, overseeing Fire and Emergency Services Training.

Grant Cherkas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba, where they attended from 1988 to 1993.
