Kurt Jordens possesses extensive experience in the chemical engineering field, currently serving as the Group Leader for Polymer Characterization and Analytical Labs at Westlake Chemical since December 2006. In this role, Kurt provides expert resin characterization and data analyses for ongoing plant trials, focusing on new catalyst trials and the implementation of Energx technology in low-pressure plants, as well as initiating changes in high-pressure autoclave plants. Previously, from August 1999 to November 2006, Kurt worked as a Research Scientist at Eastman Chemical Company, where significant contributions included uncovering the mechanism behind Eastman Hifor Clear technology and developing the second generation of Eastman "Klear" technology. Kurt holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering with a specialization in Polymer Science from Virginia Tech and a BS in Chemical Engineering from the same institution, complemented by early educational experiences at Bergenfield High School and the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
