Ramzi El-Gharib

Ramzi El-Gharib is currently the Director of Public Service at City of Westland. Prior to this, they served as Interim City Manager for the City of Wayne from July 1990 to June 2014. In this role, they managed all the city’s departments including police, fire, finance, building & engineering and DPW departments. From July 2014 to June 2017, they served as DPS Director / City Engineer for the Cities of Wayne & Westland. In this role, they supervised the DPW and Engineering departments for the cities of Wayne and Westland. Prior to their role in Wayne & Westland, they served as Assistant City Engineer in Albion, MI from November 1987 to July 1990.

Ramzi El-Gharib received their BSCE from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Ramzi then went on to receive their MSCE from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.

Ramzi El-Gharib works with Paul Motz - Director of Youth Assistance, Joanne Campbell - Chief Community Officer, and Aubrey Berman - Chief Business Development Officer. Ramzi El-Gharib reports to William R. Wild, Mayor.
