Andrew Saunders is a highly experienced professional in the dairy product innovation and development sector. Currently serving as Principal Innovation Scientist at Westland Milk Products since June 2016, Andrew leads the exploration of new product and processing opportunities while previously holding the position of New Product Development Manager. Prior experience includes over 15 years at Fonterra, where Andrew held multiple positions ranging from Technical Manager of the Creams, Fats, and Spreads Team to Principal and Senior Research Technologist, focusing on cream and fat-based dairy products. Andrew also spent a decade at the Food Technology Research Centre, managing applied food research and leading research initiatives for New Zealand food companies. Educationally, Andrew holds a PhD in Plant Physiology and a B.Hort.Sc(Hons) in Horticulture, both from Massey University.
