Mayra Yanez

Mayra Yanez is a Technical Designer at Westmoor Manufacturing, focusing on a variety of women's and girls' apparel under brands such as Rock & Roll Denim and Powder River since June 2023. Previously, Mayra served as a Course Instructor and Graduate Research Assistant at Kent State University, specializing in adaptive clothing and supply chain management while completing a Master of Fashion Industry Studies. Experience includes a role as an Apparel Design LDP at Abercrombie & Fitch Co., working as an Assistant Pattern Maker and Technical Designer at Cheerleading Company, and designing custom horse show clothing at D Designs LLC. Early career highlights involve a design internship at Nardos Design, stylist work at Nickel and Suede, and leading a fashion show promoting body positivity at the University of North Texas. Mayra holds a Master's degree from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design from the University of North Texas, complemented by a study abroad program in fashion history at the Santa Reparata International School of Art.
