Kenneth Ruyts

Kenneth Ruyts is the Founder & CEO of Westray, a company specializing in smart shipping safety solutions. Kenneth leads a team of experienced engineers with a maritime background, developing high-end products equipped with multiple cameras and powered by artificial intelligence to prevent and neutralize hazards.

Prior to Westray, Kenneth worked as the Principal Consultant at Conall Consultancy, where they demonstrated excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Kenneth successfully led original projects in unique and challenging environments and ensured success at all levels of start-up companies and new industry verticals.

Earlier in their career, Kenneth held positions at Golar LNG as an FLNG Lead M&I Superintendent and FLNG OR&A Consultant, and at Exmar as an FLNG Project Engineer. Kenneth also worked as a 3rd Engineer at Exmar Shipmanagement.

Kenneth's experience also includes working as a Maintenance Consultant for Exxon Antwerp, Total Vlissingen, and Arcelor Mittal.

Kenneth Ruyts obtained their education from various institutions. Kenneth attended the Antwerp Maritime Academy from 2005 to 2008, where they pursued a degree in marine engineering with a focus on Industrial Mechanics and Maintenance Technology. Prior to that, from 2003 to 2004, Kenneth specialized in Mathematics at Sint jan berchmanscollege. In 2002, they completed a degree in Electro Mechanica from Vrij Technisch instituut. Additionally, Kenneth has obtained certifications such as STCW-95 Chief Engineer and STCW-95 Second Engineer.
