Shivani Patel is an experienced communications professional with a strong background in journalism and team management. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Communications at Westridge School since November 2021, Shivani previously held the role of Communications Associate. At Ventura County Star, Shivani worked as an Education Reporter, focusing on equity across various educational institutions and connecting high school journalists through innovative projects. Earlier experience includes managing operations at Backyard Bowls, where Shivani generated over $1.1 million in annual revenue, and serving in multiple editorial roles at The Malibu Times, where skills in content management and social media grew readership significantly. Shivani's career also encompasses research outreach and editorial positions at various media organizations, complemented by a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Boston University.
