Javier Sotolongo

Javier Sotolongo is an experienced professional in operational excellence and process improvement, currently serving as the Director of OPEX Strategic Programs for WestRock Company since February 2013. In this role, Javier drives strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing mill operations through Daily Management Systems, Reliability Excellence, and Digitalization. Previous roles within WestRock include Director of Daily Management Systems, Master Black Belt for the Containerboard Mills Division, Continuous Improvement Manager, and Manager of Energy Demand. Prior to WestRock, Javier held positions at Georgia-Pacific LLC and Universal Paper Products, focusing on energy management and process engineering. Javier holds a Master's degree in Management from the University of Florida, a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Rafael Urdaneta, and multiple certifications including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Energy Manager.
