Han de Groot

Han de Groot has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Han is currently serving as the Interim CEO at Wetlands International since April 2023. Previously, they worked as a Board and Governance Advisor at Han de Groot - Bestuur en Advies starting from October 2020. From February 2021 to October 2022, they held the position of Executive Director at WASTE NL. Han de Groot was Chief Executive Officer at Rainforest Alliance from January 2018 to June 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director at Utz, a sustainability program for coffee, tea, and cocoa, from February 2010 to June 2020. Han has also worked in various roles at the European Commission, Ministerie van LNV, Ministerie van BZK, and Algemene Rekenkamer.

Han de Groot attended christelijk atheneum arnhem from 1972 to 1978, where they obtained a vwo degree. Later, from 1978 to 1984, they pursued their higher education at Wageningen University & Research, earning a Msc degree in Economics.
