Jeroen Jurriens

Programme Manager Community Resilience at Wetlands International

Jeroen Jurriens has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Jeroen started their career as an intern at ICIS, where they worked on their final thesis regarding the success of global public-private partnerships for health. Following this, they joined GGD Zuid Limburg as a researcher in public mental health groups.

In 2004, Jeroen worked as a teacher at Maastricht University for a short period, teaching at the Faculty of Health Sciences & Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Jeroen then moved on to be a project officer at CPME - Standing Committee of European Doctors.

From 2005 to 2007, Jeroen worked as a consultant at the Dutch Institute for Quality Improvement (CBO), where they advised and supported hospital teams on achieving improvements through breakthrough projects. Jeroen also contributed to patient safety programs and projects.

Jeroen then transitioned to a role as a General Coordinator of a Community Health project in Aceh at Dokters van de Wereld. In this role, they coordinated, monitored, and supervised the development and implementation of the community health program.

In 2008, Jeroen joined ICCO as a Program Officer for Indonesia & Timor-Leste. Jeroen later became a Program Officer for the Disaster Management Unit. In this role, they coordinated disaster management activities in various regions, managed operational teams for disaster responses, and worked on policy development and fundraising for humanitarian programs. Jeroen also engaged in lobbying efforts at national, European, and global levels for disaster risk reduction.

Most recently, Jeroen has been working as a Programme Manager Community Resilience at Wetlands International since 2019.

Jeroen Jurriens completed their Master's degree in International Business Studies from Maastricht University. Jeroen pursued this degree from 1998 to 2004. In addition to this, they also obtained another Master's degree from the same university in Health Sciences. Specializing in Policy and Management of Healthcare, they completed this degree from 1998 to 2003.
