David Thompson

David Thompson has extensive experience in geology and resource management, currently serving as the Manager of Mineral Resources at Weyerhaeuser since December 2014, where responsibilities include the development and oversight of construction materials and industrial minerals programs. Prior roles include Geologist and Manager of the Geologic Mapping Program at MDEQ's Office of Geology from May 2007 to November 2014, and Senior Resource Geologist at Plum Creek Timber from October 2005 to May 2007. David began his career as a Geologist at MDEQ’s Office of Geology from April 1989 to October 2005. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Geology from Mississippi State University, earned between 1981 and 1986.
