Sarah Betancourt

Sarah Betancourt is an experienced reporter currently working at GBH's Center for Investigative Reporting since August 2021, focusing on immigration, justice, and housing issues. Prior to this role, Sarah worked at Commonwealth Magazine, where an investigation into health care practices earned 1st place honors in government and health care reporting in 2021. Previous reporting positions include roles at The Associated Press, NBC 10 Boston, the Boston Globe Media, and freelance contributions to ProPublica and The Guardian. Sarah's early experience includes significant work in communications management and reporting with organizations like SEIU Local 615 and Ceres, Inc. Sarah holds a Master’s Degree in Investigative Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Communication from Emerson College.
