Walker Santiago has over 20 years of experience in civil engineering and GIS. Walker served as the former president and founder of the Austin Civil 3D Users Group, where they moderated and grew an online Google community for professionals in the Austin area. At WGI and BIG RED DOG Engineering | Consulting, they worked as a Principal and Senior Project Designer. Prior to that, they worked at Doucet & Associates, Inc. as a 3D visualization specialist, GIS specialist, and Civil Engineering Technician. Walker also worked at LCRA as a Civil Engineering Technician, where they were involved in CADD projects for sub-stations, microwave towers, and earthwork calculations.

Walker Santiago attended Ellison High School from 1993 to 1995, where they studied CADD in the Science program. Following that, they pursued an Associates of Science degree in CADD at Technical Jobs IT Jobs from 1995 to 1996.
