Whakatāne District Council
Emlyn Hatch serves as the General Manager of People & Partnerships at Whakatāne District Council since March 2020 and has been the General Manager for TEDx Ōmokoroa since March 2024. As a Board Member for TEDxTauranga since March 2018, Emlyn contributes to the Partnerships Team and Speaker Selection. Emlyn is the Founder of Making Stories Work, established in October 2019, which focuses on impactful communication. Previously, Emlyn held various leadership roles at Tauranga City Council from October 2013 to March 2020, including Organisational Development Manager on secondment to Whakatāne District Council. Prior experience includes several positions at Bay of Plenty Regional Council and New Zealand Transport Agency, as well as being the Transport Co-ordinating Officer at Bridgend County Borough Council from September 2003 to May 2006.
