Jose Luis Laparte

Jose Luis Laparte's work experience includes serving as President of Whalen Furniture since September 2019. Prior to that, they were the President & CEO of PriceSmart from July 2010 to November 2018, and served as President of PriceSmart from December 2003 to June 2010. Before joining PriceSmart, Laparte held various positions at Sam's Club, including Vice President of Sam's International from October 2002 to September 2003, Vice President of Sam's Club Mexico from April 2000 to September 2002, General Merchandise Manager from April 1998 to March 2000, and had various management responsibilities from January 1990 to March 1998.

Jose Luis Laparte completed their Bachelor's degree in Cybernetics and Computer Science from Universidad La Salle, A.C. between 1985 and 1990. In 2001, they attended Harvard Business School Executive Education for a short program focused on Competition & Strategy. In 2017, they participated in an Executive Education program at Stanford Graduate School of Business, specializing in Finance and Accounting for the Non-Financial Executive.
