Courtney earned a Bachelor of Arts in Art History, Criticism and Conservation, as well as in Print and Digital Journalism from the University of Southern California, and completed the Columbia Publishing Course in Book and Magazine Publishing at Columbia University. Education was completed at Kingswood-Oxford School.
