Gary Paxson

Gary Paxson, FACHE, RN, BSN, MS, serves as President & CEO of UNC Health Blue Ridge since September 2024, and also holds the role of Administrator and Chief Operating & Quality Officer at White River Medical Center and White River Health Systems, respectively, since January 2018 and April 2015. With a robust background in healthcare administration and information systems, Gary has overseen quality operations, operational performance metrics, strategic planning, and provider recruiting, while actively participating in various healthcare quality initiatives and payment practices. Gary's earlier experience includes managerial and clinical roles within hospitals, complemented by advanced degrees in management of information systems and nursing.
