A former journalist, Jake has written about education for nearly a decade. At Whiteboard Advisors, he helps education leaders and researchers turn their important insights into clear, powerful prose.
Before joining Whiteboard Advisors, Jake covered student life and college athletics for Inside Higher Ed, where his reporting focused on low-income students, campus sexual assault, discrimination, mental health and student learning. His work also has appeared in the Washington Post, The New York Times, Slate, PBS Newshour, Times Higher Education, eSchool News, Indianapolis Monthly, Teen Vogue, and the Chronicle of Higher Education, which awarded him the David W. Miller Award for Young Journalists for his reporting on education and technology. In 2017, he was interim publications fellow at the Student Press Law Center. As a journalism major at Indiana University, Jake was editor in chief of the Indiana Daily Student.
