Queenstar Akrong is a director at Whiteboard Advisors where she focuses on advocacy and government affairs strategy, working closely with local and state leaders, as well as non-profit organizations and associations, on issues related to education, equity, and post-secondary access initiatives for underrepresented students. Prior to joining Whiteboard, she worked at The College Board leading internal and external equity initiatives and managing national outreach for a $25 million College Board Opportunity Scholarships program. Prior to the College Board, she worked on Capitol Hill in the Office of Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi through the Congressional Black Caucus Emerging Leaders Program.
In her spare time, you can find her inspiring young women to run for political office through the Running Start ElectHer program, facilitating DEI conversations on structural equality through Factuality, or running to catch a flight to a new travel destination. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and International Affairs from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a Master’s in Education Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania.
