Ted Eismeier

A veteran education communications and branding strategist, Ted Eismeier has advised some of most innovative minds and independent thinkers working to address issues of access, quality, and outcomes in postsecondary education and adult learning. Over more than a decade at the intersection of media, policy and practice, Ted has forged strong working relationships with the sector’s most influential journalists, analysts and policymakers.

Ted’s current practice centers on advising education and workforce technology companies, social impact investors, and non-profit organizations, helping them harness the power of brand narrative, earned media strategy, public opinion research, and content creation to scale their impact and reach influential national audiences. An expert on trends in higher education media and journalism, Ted has spoken at the Council of Independent Colleges State Councils Convening, the SHEEO Annual Conference, and as a guest lecturer on education communications and entrepreneurship at the USC Rossier School of Education. He also serves as a mentor for early stage startups for the TechStars Workforce Development Accelerator, a technology acceleration program focused on addressing the challenges of the modern dynamic labor market through emerging technologies.

The product of an academic family, Ted inherited a passion for supporting upward mobility through education. He serves as a director of Community Tax Aid, a non-profit that supports economic empowerment through free tax assistance to low-income residents of the D.C. metro area, and the American Academy for Liberal Education, a specialized liberal arts accrediting body serving colleges, universities, and P-12 schools. He is a past Charter Board Partners fellow and former vice chair of Harmony DC Public Charter School’s Board of Trustees. Ted holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and is an alumnus of Northfield Mount Hermon School.
