Derek Stainbrook

Derek Stainbrook is an experienced professional in the oil and gas industry with a focus on carbon capture and energy operations. Currently serving as the Plant Operations Shift Lead at Whitecap Resources Inc. since December 2017, Derek oversees the largest Carbon Capture & Utilization Storage (CCUS) project in the world. Prior to this role, Derek held various positions in oil and gas operations, including Panel Operator and Plant Operator roles at Cenovus Energy and Battery/Plant Operator at ARC Resources Ltd. Additionally, Derek owns and operates Stainbrook Taxidermy, showcasing a diverse skill set beyond the energy sector. Derek is equipped with a degree in Chemical Process Operations from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.
