Hilary Greenbaum has extensive work experience in graphic design and creative roles. Hilary is currently the Director of Graphic Design and Brand Creative at the Whitney Museum of American Art, a position they have held since September 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Graphic Design at the same institution from May 2012 to September 2021. In 2021, they also worked as a Visiting Scholar at The Johns Hopkins University from January to April. Hilary has also held positions such as Adjunct Faculty at Parsons School of Design - The New School from August 2017 to May 2018 and Adjunct Faculty at NYU School of Professional Studies from August 2008 to May 2012. Hilary was a Graphic Designer and Columnist at The New York Times from September 2007 to May 2012. Throughout their career, they have had experience with various other design roles at companies such as AIGA New York, Heavy Meta, Helicopter, Green Dragon Office, and ReVerb.

Hilary Greenbaum earned their MFA in Graphic Design from the California Institute of the Arts from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a BFA in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University between 1997 and 2001.
