Melanie Taylor

Director, Exhibition Design at Whitney Museum of American Art

Melanie Taylor has extensive experience as an exhibition designer in various prestigious institutions. Melanie worked as the Director of Exhibition Design at the Whitney Museum of American Art since 2017. Prior to that, they held the same position at the Guggenheim Museum from 2008 to 2017, where they also worked as a Senior Exhibition Designer from 2004 to 2008. Additionally, Taylor worked as an Exhibition Designer for the Marrakech Biennale in 2015 and as an Exhibition Designer for the National Pavilion of the United Arab Emirates at the 2013 Venice Biennale.

Melanie Taylor pursued their undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College from 1990 to 1994, where they focused on Art History and obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. Melanie then went on to enroll at Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Master of Architecture (MArch) degree, specializing in Architecture.
