John Burns is a highly experienced professional in food safety, quality assurance, and compliance, currently serving as Vice President at Whole Foods Market since May 2006. In this role, John is responsible for overseeing food safety and quality standards across a vast network of over 500 stores and distribution centers. Prior to this, John held the position of Executive Director for Private Label Quality Assurance and Food Safety at Whole Foods, where responsibilities included developing quality assurance programs for a multi-billion dollar portfolio. John's earlier career includes significant roles in operations management and quality strategy with Fortune 500 companies and the Australian Government, as well as leadership positions at AIB International, Nestlé Purina North America, and the Irish Dairy Board. Academic credentials include a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree with a focus on Food Chemistry and Microbiology from University College Cork.
