Senior Manager & Head of Content Marketing at Whole Whale

A lifelong writer and lover of stories, Rachel is fascinated by the power that words have to connect, energize, and organize people around the world. She believes that digital storytelling is a crucial aspect of increasing the reach of nonprofits, and as Content Marketing Manager she uses her communication skills to amplify the important voices of her clients.

Rachel serves as account manager for a number of Whole Whale’s nonprofit and social impact clients , specializing in search engine optimization (SEO) and content marketing projects, in addition to supporting client email marketing and digital advertising campaigns. Rachel is certified in Google Analytics and Google Ads, and has managed over $1 million in Google Ad Grant spend for nonprofit clients. Her creative fingerprints can be found across Whole Whale’s work with Power Poetry, Prizeo, Charitybuzz, World Animal Protection, JustFix.nyc, Donate Life America, The JED Foundation, AFS-USA, and more.

Internally, Rachel manages Whole Whale’s site content and editorial calendar. She also co-authored Whole Whale’s e-book, The Simple Guide to Building an Awesome Internship Program, and contributed to the 2nd edition of Wiley’s Nonprofit Management 101. Rachel enjoys supporting NYC-area nonprofit learning through WWULive events, and has led both virtual and in-person trainings on SEO, content marketing, the Google Ad Grant, and online fundraising. She has lectured at Columbia University, Baruch College, 501Tech, and Nonprofit New York, and has presented at the Ragan Communications Conference and New Jersey Nonprofit Conference.

Before joining the Whole Whale team as a content intern, Rachel studied English literature, creative writing, and global studies at Williams College. She’s currently an MFA candidate in New York University’s low-residency creative writing program.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys running, going to concerts, reading all kinds of books, and eating pancakes.
