Gregory Hand

Dean, College of Health Professions at Wichita State University

Gregory Hand is the current Dean of the College of Health Professions at Wichita State University. Gregory was previously Special Assistant to the VP for Health Sciences and Professor at West Virginia University School of Public Health from August 2014 to December 2017. From August 2007 to August 2014, they were Associate Dean for Research and Practice and Professor at the University of South Carolina. Gregory was also Professor of Epidemiology at WEST Virginia University from July 2014 to August 2020. From January 2005 to December 2007, they served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the University of South Carolina.

Dr. Gregory Hand received their undergraduate degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina. Gregory then pursued a Master of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Arizona. After working in the field for a few years, they decided to return to school to earn their Master of Public Health in General Public Health from the University of South Carolina. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Currently, they are a Postdoctoral Fellow in Physiology and Neurobiology at Moss Heart Center, Southwestern Medical Center.

Gregory Hand reports to Shirley Lefever, Interim EVP & Provost. Gregory Hand works with Laura Manning - EA to the Provost, Rodney Miller - Dean, College of Fine Arts, and Steven R. Skinner - Interim Dean, College of Engineering.
