Adrian Smith

Adrian Smith has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry, currently serving as Vice President of Licensing Technologies at WiLAN since April 2009, where responsibilities include patent evaluation, infringement analysis, and licensing. Previously, Adrian held roles as Principal Engineer for Wireless Technologies and Director of Licensing Technologies at the same company. Prior to WiLAN, Adrian spent a decade at Nortel in various RF Systems Advisor positions and as a Systems Engineer, and earlier experience includes work as a Wireless Engineer and Antenna Design Engineer at Nortel Paignton UK. Adrian began a career at Siemens Plessey Systems as a Microwave Engineer. Educational credentials include an MSc in Microwaves and Modern Optics from UCL and a BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Portsmouth.
