Raul Chambote

Community Conservation And Development Manager at Wildlife Conservation Society

Raul Chambote serves as the Economic Governance Portfolio Manager for the USAID SPEED Program since September 2021, where responsibilities include managing client relationships and ensuring effective communication between the Government of Mozambique and stakeholder organizations. As a PhD student at Universidade Eduardo Mondlane since December 2019, Raul is furthering studies in Development and Society. Previous roles include Specialist in Governance and Natural Resources at CESC, contributing to land policy reforms and community rights initiatives, and Programme Policy Officer at UN WFP, focusing on program policy formulation. Experience also includes government relations at Rio Tinto Coal Mozambique and various positions supporting trade unions and capacity building in Mozambique and the Southern Africa region. Raul holds two Master’s degrees in International Development from the University of Birmingham earned in 2008-2009.
