Research Scientist - Conservation at Wildlife Works

Yvonne Wambui Githiora is a Research Scientist in Conservation at Wildlife Works, contributing since April 2023. Previously, Yvonne served as a PhD Research Fellow at the African Climate and Environment Centre, focusing on Nature-Based Solutions in African Savannas from January 2022 to April 2023. Additionally, Yvonne worked as a part-time Lecturer at the Cooperative University of Kenya and as a Project Assistant for the Development Corridors Partnership Project at the Institute for Climate Change and Adaptation. Early career experiences include an internship at Act! Act Change Transform and a role as a Young Professional at the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis. Yvonne also has experience as a Laboratory Assistant and Tutor at the University of the Western Cape. Academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Climate Change and Adaptation from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Science in Conservation Biology from the University of Cape Town, and a Bachelor of Science in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology from the University of the Western Cape.
