Mattia Battagion has a diverse work experience in various roles related to sustainability, communication, and content management. Mattia started their career in 2017 as a Team Officer at SIOI - UN Association of Italy, where they worked on international cooperation proposals for the Arctic Council. Mattia then went on to work as a Radio Author and Editor at SOAS Radio, where they wrote, recorded, and edited a radio show exploring the impact of different musical genres on social change.

In 2019, Mattia joined Ecosystem Restoration Camps as a Project Assistant, implementing an agroforestry system sponsored by Patagonia. Mattia also worked as a Communication Assistant at the Foundation for Environmental Education during the same year.

From 2019 to 2021, Mattia worked at Edizioni Ambiente as a Marketing and Communication Consultant and Contributor. Mattia also worked independently as a Communication specialist and Content writer.

In 2015, Mattia started volunteering at the Italian Climate Network as a Content Editor and later became a Contributor and Observer.

In 2021, Mattia worked at Comune di Milano as a Content Manager and joined Chatham House as a member of the Common Futures Conversations.

Currently, Mattia is the Head of Sustainability at Will Media, a role they assumed in 2022.

Mattia Battagion has a Bachelor's degree in International Studies from the Università di Trento, which they earned from 2013 to 2017. Mattia then pursued a Diploma in Human security and Sustainable Development from the Istituto per gli Studi di Politica Internazionale (ISPI) from 2016 to 2017. In 2015 to 2016, they participated in the Erasmus+ Programme at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, focusing on International Relations. In 2017 to 2018, Mattia attended the SOAS University of London, where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Environment, Politics, and Development. From 2020 to 2021, they furthered their education at the Talent Garden Innovation School, completing a Master's program in Digital Marketing. Additionally, in 2021, they attended a course in Data Journalism at Mani Tese + Info Data (Sole 24 ORE).
