Sumru Tufekcioglu

Sumru Tufekcioglu, Ph.D., is an accomplished clinical psychologist and academic with extensive experience in psychoanalysis. Currently serving as the Chair of the Teachers' Academy at the American Psychoanalytic Association, Tufekcioglu holds multiple leadership positions including Grant Committee Member for the Fund for Psychoanalytic Research and President of the Candidates Council. In addition to a private practice, Tufekcioglu is an Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai West, and has been involved with the William Alanson White Institute as faculty since September 2019. Tufekcioglu also serves as Executive Editor and Editorial Board Member at Contemporary Psychoanalysis. Tufekcioglu's educational background includes degrees from Columbia University, Adelphi University, New York University, Georgetown University, and training at the William Alanson White Institute.
