Shamir Shehab

Shamir Shehab serves as the Executive Director at the Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative (BYEI) since July 2021, overseeing operations and managing a team while focusing on fundraising and program strategy. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Catalyzing Sustainable Transformation (CaST) Network, Shamir aims to address complex development challenges in the Global South through evidence-driven solutions. Additionally, Shamir is a Lecturer at North South University and a Non-resident Researcher at the International Centre for Climate Change and Development (ICCCAD), contributing expertise in public policy, climate finance, and sustainable development. Previous roles include consulting for Oxford Policy Management and the Green Climate Fund, and program management at Friendship NGO. Shamir's academic background includes a Master of Public Administration from Cornell University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Peking University, alongside other educational qualifications in engineering and leadership.
