David Lay

David Lay is a Partner in the Corporate Group at Williams Mullen, where they focus on representing companies and individuals in matters such as angel and venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate and securities issues. With over twenty years of experience in the Richmond startup community, David has advised clients across various industries, including technology, biosciences, and logistics. They have also served as a mentor at StartupVirginia and participated in the Virginia Bar Association's drafting committee for the Virginia Report on Third Party Legal Opinions in Business Transactions. David's background includes previous roles at LeClairRyan and Hunton & Williams, as well as experience as a Law Clerk for the United States Bankruptcy Court. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
