Dr. Amy Wolfhope-Briggs

Director Of Special Education at Williamsport Area School District

Dr. Amy Wolfhope-Briggs has a diverse work experience in the field of special education. Dr. Amy'smost recent position was as the Director of Special Education at the Williamsport Area School District, starting in September 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Secondary Special Education Supervisor at the same district from November 2020 to September 2021. From 2018 to 2020, Dr. Wolfhope-Briggs was the Director of Student Services at BLaST Intermediate Unit #17. Dr. Amy also held the position of Secondary Special Education Coordinator at the Williamsport Area School District from 2017 to 2018. Before that, they served as the Supervisor of Therapy Services at BLaST IU 17 from 2013 to 2017 and as the Special Education Supervisor at the Canton Area School District/BLaST IU 17 from 2012 to 2013. Dr. Wolfhope-Briggs started their career as a Speech Language Pathologist at BLaST IU 17 in 2006 and held this position until 2012.

Dr. Amy Wolfhope-Briggs has a comprehensive education history. Dr. Amy obtained their Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University, completing their studies from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, they attended Wilkes University from 2016 to 2018, where they pursued a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. Continuing their educational journey, Dr. Wolfhope-Briggs achieved their Masters of Science/Special Education Administration certification from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, specializing in Speech-Language Pathology/Pathologist, from 2003 to 2006. Dr. Amy began their academic career by completing a Bachelor's degree in Applied Human Services from Pennsylvania College of Technology, taking courses between 1994 and 1998.
