Ian Mercer

Ian Mercer is an accomplished engineering leader and inventor with extensive experience in software development, product innovation, and consulting. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Willow since May 2021, Ian oversees the North American development organization and has pioneered key features for the WillowTwin Platform, including the innovative WillowTwin Rules Engine. Additionally, Ian provides advisory support to Elevāt in the Industrial IoT sector and runs a consulting firm, SignSwift LLC, specializing in strategies and architectures for complex systems. With a noteworthy history at organizations like Microsoft, where significant contributions to products like Movie Maker and Encarta World Atlas were made, and as the founder of NextBase Ltd., Ian combines deep technical expertise with a passion for advancing smart home technologies through Abodit. Ian holds a MA in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.
