Ben Puffer has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Ben started their career in 2000 at Argonaut Group as a Senior Claims Examiner, where they managed personal injury and liability cases. During their time there, they played a key role in developing the company's Spanish-speaking claims service.
In 2011, Ben joined Auburn University as a Visiting Assistant Professor. In this role, they taught design studios and courses focused on product design, exhibit design, branding, and packaging. Ben also incorporated CAD modeling and design research into their teaching curriculum.
In 2012, Ben moved to Broan NuTone LLC, where they held various roles. As the Industrial Design Manager, they ideated and conceptualized a variety of products for the residential ventilation market leader. Ben also led Broan's visual product transformation, ensuring a more modern and cohesive offering. In addition, Ben vetted and selected external design firms and contract designers, and guided them to successful deliverables.
Ben also had a role as a Product Designer - Marketing at Broan NuTone LLC, where they learned to prioritize manufacturability in their design concepts. Ben utilized CAD modeling extensively and presented their ideas to diverse audiences.
Most recently, in 2019, Ben joined Wilsonart as a Senior Designer. Details of their work in this role are not provided.
Ben Puffer has a solid educational background, with a focus on design and international studies. Their education history includes a Bachelor's degree in International Studies with a focus on Global Economy Emphasis from Brigham Young University. Following this, they pursued further education at Auburn University, where they completed a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design as a post-baccalaureate degree. Ben then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Industrial Design from Auburn University as well.
