Shayla McDermott

Shayla McDermott, MT-BC, currently serves as a Music Therapy Outreach professional at Winchester Community Music School since September 2023. In addition, Shayla has been an Adjunct Faculty member at Lasell Village since June 2021, teaching various music courses for the Senior Learning Community. Since August 2019, Shayla has held the position of Music Therapist and Program Coordinator at Benchmark Senior Living. Previous roles include Hospice Music Therapist at TRINITY HOSPICE, Music Therapist for The Medical Team, and Music Therapist at Arbor Hospice. Shayla's early experience includes a music therapy internship at Hochstein School of Music and Dance, as well as a practicum at Residential Hospice. Educationally, Shayla is pursuing a Master of Social Work at Boston University School of Social Work and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University.
