Interim Assistant Head Of Teaching And Learning at Winchester Thurston School

Amanda Welsh is a seasoned educator with extensive experience in middle school administration and teaching. Currently serving as the Interim Assistant Head of Teaching and Learning, Director of Middle School, Dean of Faculty, and Co-Director of Middle School for Academic Life at Winchester Thurston School since July 2011, Amanda has played a pivotal role in shaping educational practices. Prior to this, Amanda taught Middle School Social Studies at the same institution from 1996 to 2011 and held teaching positions in history and English at Northwood School and Baldwin School in the mid-1990s. Amanda holds a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Duquesne University (1997 - 2011) and a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Education from Dickinson College (1990 - 1994).
