Fech joined WT in 2018 after serving as Upper School Director at NSU University School in Florida. He began his career teaching French and English, and accepted his first administrative post in 2002 as Principal of Bishop Noll Institute in Indiana. During his time there, and as an administrator at Grayslake School District near Chicago, his leadership had a dramatic impact on the enrollment, academic programs, fundraising efforts, and governance structure of the schools.
As the High School Principal and Director of Educational Programs at The University of Chicago Laboratory Schools, Fech oversaw staffing, diversity efforts, and curriculum development. At NSU University School, his focus was on creating a professional development program for faculty, establishing opportunities for teachers to collaborate, forging stronger community relationships, building a medical fellowship for students, and improving the school's advising system.
Fech has presented regularly on teaching and school leadership at various regional and university-level conferences, and he served on the Board of ChiTech Academy Charter High School in Chicago.
As an undergraduate, Fech studied education and French at Indiana University before earning a Master's degree in Education from Purdue and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Loyola University (Chicago). Fech also holds an advanced degree in theology from the University of St. Michael's College (Toronto).
