Bill Downing

Bill Downing is an experienced sports broadcaster currently working at Elmhurst University since November 2023. Downing has held multiple roles over the years, including shot clock operator for the Windy City Bulls since November 2016, broadcaster for the Joliet Slammers Professional Baseball Club since May 2019, and track announcer at Dirt Oval @ Route 66 Raceway since the same date. Additionally, Downing serves as a play-by-play broadcaster for Aurora University and Dominican University, while also fulfilling public address roles for Roosevelt University and the Windy City ThunderBolts. Significant past roles include lead play-by-play broadcaster for the Bloomington Edge and public address announcer for Northwestern University. Downing's education includes a sports emphasis degree from Illinois Media School, along with ongoing studies at West Shore Community College and College of Lake County.
