Jarl Sandø has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Jarl began their career in 1987 as a Chief Engineer at Skorstad Fiskebåtrederi AS and later worked as a Fisherman at Sandø Fiskebåtrederi AS. In 1990, they served as a 2 Engineer on the M/T Bow Princess chemical tanker at Odfjell SE.
Sandø transitioned into the field of refrigeration and HVAC systems, starting as a Refrigeration/HVAC Technician at Bartnes AS in 1995. Jarl then worked as a Refrigeration Technician at Midtnorsk kjøleservice in 1997.
Sandø returned to Bartnes AS in 1998 as a Project and Design Engineer, being responsible for sales and design of refrigeration and HVAC systems, as well as service tasks. Jarl continued in this role until 2004, when they joined YIT Building systems AS as the Leader of the YIT Trondheim refrigeration service department. There, they had financial and HR responsibilities, managed key accounts, and was involved in sales and design of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
In 2007, Sandø became the CEO of Holthe Prosjekt AS, where they oversaw daily operations, had personal and HSE responsibilities, and was involved in sales and design of new refrigeration systems.
Sandø then returned to Bartnes AS in 2010 as a Project and Service Manager. In this role, they were responsible for design, engineering, and planning of custom refrigeration systems for offshore installations, as well as service planning and execution.
In their most recent position, Sandø joined Winns AS in 2014. Jarl initially served as the CTO until 2020, when they transitioned into the role of Project Manager.
Overall, Jarl Sandø has gained extensive experience in project management, leadership, sales, design, and service tasks within the refrigeration, HVAC, and maritime industries.
Jarl Sandø began their education in 1984 at Brundalen VGS, where they studied Engine and Mechanics. Jarl continued their education at Ladehammeren Maritime Engineering Schools VGS I from 1986 to 1987 without obtaining a specific degree. In 1989, Jarl enrolled in Ladehammeren Maritime Engineering Schools VGS II and graduated as an Engineer in the same year. From 1991 to 1992, they attended the National Refrigeration Engineer School, specializing in Refrigeration Engineering Technology, HVAC, Thermodynamics, and Automatic Technology. Lastly, Jarl completed their apprentice training at the Apprentice Training Board from 1993 to 1995, earning the Apprentice degree in Refrigeration.
