Rui Bastos

Rui Bastos is an experienced Innovation Synthetics Engineer at WireCo WorldGroup since May 2010, specializing in the development of new products and processes related to the extrusion of polyolefins and biopolymers. Responsibilities include evaluating raw materials, supporting various extruded fiber product families, and collaborating with international commercial teams as well as operations and maintenance. Prior experience includes a role as Production Planning Responsible in the Yarns Division and a Health Safety and Environment Trainee at EDP. Rui has conducted research at the Chemical Engineering Department of Coimbra University, focusing on chemical processes and polymeric materials, and has served as an R&D Trainee at Tintas CIN. Rui holds a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universidade de Coimbra and a Licenciatura in Chemical Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, along with a specialization in Management of Operations and Industrial Services from Cenertec.
